Ye gods I'm old. I can't remember the title, but it has to do with the New Moon. I do remember that Simon just dripped sex on the video for "Hungry Like the Wolf."

Granted, my memory loss may have something to do with my four year old needing to go to the bathroom at AM this morning, then the alarm going off at 6 AM to get the six year old up and ready for school. ::sigh::

Union of the snake.
Even if the first one I heard from them was Girls on Film. I was in England for the first time and discovering strange new music.
DD and Adam and the Ants.
Shock!

To tell the truth but probably sound like an idiot, I don't think I know any Duran Duran songs! I'm fifteen so this may possibly not be my fault. I'm sorry, Cat!

What?? No Minneapolis stop? Very harsh, very....

Rio. Hands down. But, sadly, I only know that and Wolf. We must fix this. Emily and I will learn together.

(At least she has the excuse of only being 15! We will help you, m'dear, not to worry!)

Lady Emily, I bet you are a very hip 15 year old. Duran / Duran were hip when I was 15 (I think) but I still can name only one song of theirs.

Duran/Duran was very popular in the mid to late 1980s, after I had graduated from college in '84. MTV was still mostly music videos, well before "The Real World," "Road Rules," and TRL. I have one of their albums on vinyl. At the time, it was cheaper than a CD, and I'm not sure we had a CD player at the time.

All this to say that, Emily, you shouldn't be embarassed about not knowing who Duran/Duran is because they were popular before you were born. You could always ask your mom about them. :)

a monument to the 80's! catchy catchy tunes from men wearing eyeliner, i loved them, love DD still.
Chantele, nice to have you stop by!
S-law, did you get your Neverwear tee yet!???
i sent it so long ago.

i am here in the Vancouver hotel, it rained and rained,
but was beautiful anyway,
first show tomorrow, going to be a big one!
little Rubius offered to take me on a carriage ride, but this kitten slept curled in a ball in her great hotel bed--my first real day off 9besides travel) in SO long...willl post soon.
And QUiche, i agree, no stop near you seems very cruel!

have a great tour Kitty...

Come Undone.... that's my fav.

I don't remember how I found it but I found a vid on youtube called 'Shameless Barbarian Cheesecake' that features Come Undone to clips from Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta's 1983 'Fire and Ice' movie. It reminded me how much I love that song and made me want to watch the movie for the amazing animation. I recommend the youtube vid to anyone who likes that song... or that vid... just search for shameless barbarian cheesecake.

Kitty, remember, where ever you are, in whatever hotel you are in, there will be some Law and Order SVU playing when you turn on the TV.

My advice for surviving the road....

Heard they lost the Pig....Wouldn't have happened if YOU had been there!

Rubius said...

It's true!!! I saw the pig on tv this morning... and had to laugh... if Kitty had been there then it never would have happened!!!

Right below it was a news reader talking about hte DuranDuran show last night..

This was while I was watching to see my boss on tv... we are doing a media blitz right now.. we got on two news shows so far and the front page of the business section of the biggest paper in town.

My favorite DD song?
Phew..I was a hardcore Durannie back in the day..so I'd have to give it a three-way tie between Secret Oktober, The Chauffeur, and Union of the Snake.
