we go run along the beach and pick up rocks that catch our eye, then we write our wishes and hopes on them and then shut our eyes and throw them as far as we can into the mighty sea.

I would write, "Please help me to give my kids happy childhoods that prepare them for wise adulthoods."
i would write "please don't let me get hit by a rock while swimming in the ocean..."
